Passing the Baton

Hi, friends! Lysha here, one more time. I hope everyone's summer is off to a great start! I've so enjoyed being with my kids, and while I desperately miss being in the shop each day to engage with you, see what's on your needles, and help you dream up your next project, I know this is the right thing for me and my sweet family.

As promised, I'm reaching out to share some exciting news! I'm passing the Fiberge baton to the amazing Jennifer Cox. She'll tell her story in a little bit, but I'm very comforted to know the shop will be in very capable hands, and that she will care for it well. I'm very excited about her creative spirit, her go-getter mentality, and enthusiasm. Not only is Jen insanely smart, but she's warm, authentic, talented, and hilarious. You're in for a real treat! Once the ink is dry, there will be a meet & greet during a soft opening in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for the date and time for that event!

There will most likely be another partner joining the team in the coming weeks, but for now, I'd like to introduce you to Jennifer Cox.

Hello!  I’m delighted to meet you and I’m looking forward to getting to know you!  I’ve been a knitter for over 20 years and am passionate about the craft and sharing it with others.  I firmly believe everyone is creative and work every day to help folks unleash their creative potential and/or just feel comfortable testing the waters of making.

I learned to knit as a child, but put it down for a bit until I found myself in graduate school in a new city, far from friends and family. Knitting – making, actually – was my comfort then, and still is, in a way!  I’m a TKGA member, knitting instructor, and fiber-fest addict!  At any given time, I have four projects on the needles, and I’m not ashamed to say that, even though I know better, I often start without a gauge swatch just to see what’ll happen!

As we move through this transition, please feel free to reach out to me personally with questions, comments, ideas – they’re all welcome.  My professional background in brand strategy and activation will, I hope, be a benefit to the “new” shop, and I’ve already been in contact with some existing customers about opportunities for new activities, classes and even investing!  We are currently working on finalizing an investor packet for those who are interested – this is so much more than a yarn and fabric shop, it’s a part of the fabric (See what I did there?  I’m also terribly punny!) of the community and including interested folks in the decisions and the work are crucial to success!

Here’s hoping we’re all looking forward to a bright future and at the same time, honoring the legacy that Lysha has built so that it continues to flourish in years to come.  And, speaking of Lysha, please join me in thanking her for her graciousness in agreeing to stay around a bit in a new and more consultative role.  She’s the fiber (I did it again!) that runs through all of this; we can’t wait to work on what’s next together!
